LSTM and WBFA Equip Centre of Excellence at FMC Jabi with Advanced Obstetrics and Surgical Training Tools
On July 10, 2024, the Liverpool School of Tropical Medicine (LSTM), in partnership with the Wellbeing Foundation Africa (WBFA), handed over state-of-the-art training equipment for the Advanced Obstetrics and Surgical Skills (AOSS) Training to the National Postgraduate Medical College of Nigeria (NPMCN) Faculty at the Centre of Excellence, Federal Medical Centre (FMC), Jabi, Abuja.
The newly equipped Centre of Excellence aims to support Continuous Medical Education, part of the project's ongoing effort to empower the faculty in training resident doctors in Nigeria, enhance the quality of training provided, and ensure residents gain necessary skills and knowledge.
Those in attendance included: Dr. P. Abiodun, Chairman of the Medical Advisory Committee; Dr. Aliyu, Assistant CEMAC; Dr. Juliet Ofor, HOD O&G; Dr. Hauwa Mohammed from LSTM; Miss Adacha Boslam from LSTM; and Miss Jennifer Eziuloh from WBFA.
This project is funded by the Global Health Workforce Programme(#GHWP), supported by the UK Department of Health and Social Care (DHSC), and managed by the Tropical Health and Education Trust (@THETlinks) to benefit the health sectors of both the UK and partner countries.
